Greg Porter takes a seat on the Keeping IT Brief podcast hosted by Mary Ann Brown, to discuss how is securely using AI technology in its digital twin platform, Vertasyn, to help government agencies optimize their capabilities and reduce costs.
WOODBRIDGE, Va., August 29, 2024 — , a leader in providing information technology, engineering, program management,C5ISR, and cybersecurity support services, announced today that Greg Porter, ’s Principal Solutions Architect, was featured as a guest on Forum’s Keeping IT Brief Podcast episode “Navigating AI in Government: Ensuring Ethical Use and Innovation with Greg Porter” where he discusses the best practices to securely implement AI, the greatest growth areas for AI in government and how the government could approach AI regulation.
In the podcast, Porter shares strategies to help alleviate security concerns surrounding artificial intelligence (AI). He suggests narrowing the information AI can access to reduce the risk that poses when AI can access all information across the web. Additionally, he shares that integrating security at each level of the software process through a DevSecOps pipeline will proactively improve AI security. Porter concludes that a multi-agent generative AI system is a key process to implement.
“Really from the implementation standpoint, we stress that you really should tie in your AI and machine learning into what we call a DevSecOps pipeline, or development, security, operations pipelines,” said Porter. “And what we see with that is you are able to iterate really quickly on your models, but you are also ensuring that you are implementing best practices from a cybersecurity standpoint. And that you are testing the functionality of those models fully in an automated manor before you actually release it into production.”
The discussion evolves into a focus on growth areas for AI in the government space. Porter shares the opportunity for digital twins to be adopted by the government in a variety of use cases. He emphasizes the importance of including a human touch in the processes to help catch potential errors. Porter closes with an individual’s right to protect their data and creative work from AI inclusion and suggests how the government can look to existing international AI regulations to determine effective strategies.
