Biography
Dr. Auer is a ºÚÁÏÉçÇø alumnus with more than a decade of experience in psychological science, behavioral health, and higher education. Following completion of his doctorate in Psychology at Oklahoma State University, Dr. Auer completed fellowships in Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and Primary Care Research at the Penn State College of Medicine. His professional experience spans diverse settings, including universities, academic medical centers, hospitals, and government.
Dr. Auer’s areas of expertise include health psychology, lifespan development, and biobehavioral health. Dr. Auer has served as an investigator on research supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Pennsylvania Department of Health, and other organizations. His research centers on two primary themes: (1) understanding the antecedents and consequences of life stress and (2) developing and evaluating interventions to promote well-being, resilience, and healthy behavior.
Teaching and mentorship are major areas of interest for Dr. Auer. He enjoys working with students to promote continued personal and professional development.
